  • ToAU Missions {Too weak}

    Last night as soon as I got home I ran to do all the ToAU missions...and owned them all again -_-; They're so terribly easy, CS's and the occasional fight, although getting to the Execution Chamber for 22 was a litttle tough. But the fight was easier than getting there too, lol...maybe I should just be happy it's not another case of extreme CoP player ownage...actually now I am happy, but just wanted to post about the missions. XD

    But just curious what you guys thought of how easy these missions are?

    The story rawks though, and I really liked how animated and involving the CS's were this time, it was quite fun(Just go die Shantotto). I'm excited about getting home to get my last CS's, since Whitegate went under maintenance last night and I had to get to bed. But yea, these missions are easy, and pretty fun, so nevermind with the complaining, lol >_>

    I actually am a little disappointed with the difficulty level of the missions. I kinda liked how the CoP missions were a challenge and that you felt a sense of accomplishment from beating them. I would have liked to see harder BCNM (that had a choice of level cap kinda l like Assault because I hate having to buy level capped gear :p )

    I am still having fun doing them with my friends though, so I can't really complain.

    I do like this story line, and I am only on ToAU 15 so perhaps the fights get more challenging later on?

      Ehh...the fight was kind of okay...for mission 22 I mean. You fight a pretty cool mob(won't ruin it for you), but I've heard of people trio'ing it...also, we did it as like NIN MNK MNK BRD SMN, and it was extremely easy...one of the hardest parts of all of this is really getting to the areas, or in this chunk of missions, to the CS's. I do enjoy the missions as the story is great, and I do it only with my friends, but I agree with the thought that they could be a little harder.

        Everyone talks about the missions when the expansion is still in its early stages, im sure itl get better.

          They simply probably made them more easier so people can complete them. They even release missions(and they have been for a while) in a episodic way. I remember a interview with Valve developers saying they make the episodes shorter(in this case easier) so people will finish the game. I would hate to make a game that only a handful of players get to experience and finish because it is so diffucult.

            Not enough assault done to get the mission progressing... I kinda hate this limitation.

              Well, game are supposed to be about challenge. Its just a pity developers cave in to the aspect of entertaining the player rather than genuinely challenging them. I liked the restrictions imposed on CoP Missions and that the solution [i]was not[/u] "zomglet'sgetall75sandpwnit."

                I am hoping that when they release the new end game area (they are making a new end game area right, or that could be rumor, I can't tell anymore) that the missions or whatever will be harder so that you have to work some to gain access. It would also be cool if they had a spiffy reward like CoP

                  Divine Might gives a spiffy reward, and not doing it is almost a crime.

                  Also why is it a pity to entertain? People stay for entertainment.

                    {huh?} I did Divine Might. Working towards Apocalypse Nigh now. (first Bahamut done. Just need to finish up ZM and do the promy quest)

                    While I agree people stay for entertainment, if they are too easy like the first ToAU missions are, you get done with them too fast. CoP took me months to finish, I did a majority of the available ToAU missions in one night.

                      It would also help if they released more at a time. A few cutscenes and a battle after waiting a couple months is not cool. >.>

                        The expansion was released six months ago. Not only should it have been complete when they released it, but it really makes you wonder exactly what has the dev team been working on all this time? Ways to improve Beseiged, no doubt. /rolleyes

                        It is appalling that we had to pay for unfinished work back in April to still have it be unfinished 6 months later and be paying our 12.95/month to see what the finished product will be. Excellent business plan for SE though.

                          For people like me who are at a low level, and can only get a lot of solo time, these missions are great. ^^ I'm really enjoying them.

                            Wooo, uber old post bump.

                            Well, I'm a bit on the fence on this. I kind of like how the missions are nice and fairly easy/straightforward. It's not too hard to find a group to do this with, and you can do it with a wide variety of jobs which I enjoy.

                            The CoP missions though are more job restrictive, or at least the players make it that way. There are items to help with the fights which are easy but time consuming to get. I really enjoy the CoP fights, and I like the challenge, but I don't like how hard it is to get a group together for these fights. I don't like being told unless I have 5x smn the other person won't come or something rediculous like that.

                              Most of the ZM missions were pretty easy as well and seemed to follow the same format. I really don't have an issue with how the missions are structured.

                              As far as them being unfinished... well... this is an MMO. As such, the game is a fluid entity. MMOs never drop all their content at once. None ever have at least that I know of. It took roughly a year for the full scope of CoP to be revealed and it was well worth it.
